Yaverland litter pick

Another successful litter pick today

This was an in-house event involving the usual suspects! (comprising Helena Hewston on the left, David Burdett, centre, and keeping control on the right, Pat Almond)

 The usual suspects!

In a session lasting just over 90 minutes we collected 9 large bags of litter and left the beach and its surrounds much cleaner as a result. The analysis of collected rubbish showed a large number of crisp packets, plastic bottles, drinks cans, discarded bags of dog poo.  Also in abundance were paper tissues that wrapped themselves around vegetation and were hard to extract.  The usual cigarette ends were less evident which was interesting  - has our campaign with the ciggie stub holders taken effect?

My personal thanks to all who attended.  Well done to you all.

John Langley
